Default Need a new iPod compatable program.

Ok so my comp crashed and hard drive wiped, and so did my entire iTunes library, seeing as iTunes is dumb it now will not let me sync w/o wiping my iPod I cannot really use it cause most of the music on it was from borrowed CDs or downloaded not from iTunes. Anyone have a free program that will at least let me sync my pod and possibly dl from iPod to it?

Yamipod is a good one. Works pretty well.

iTunes is the tool of the Devil. Winamp is better.

Also, iPod is just a sucky overhyped MP4 player. Instead of wasting $300 on a new iPod 8GB, I paid only $160 for a better Vanquish 8GB from Pentagram.*

*- Prices after convertion in Poland.

Media monkey. Best music management program ever. Free.
Can synch to all IPods, even new ones (incl. Touch)

I have yet to find a program besides ITunes that does video, though.

And fyi....Mediamonkey has some basis on winamp I believe. I know a lot of winamp plugins work in MM.

Anyways....mediamonkey. Best. Music. Program. Ever.

Nah, for the price, the iPod touch and iPhone are very good pieces of technology (if you use all the features they have). The iPod Touch has an amazing screen, a very intuative touch interface, wifi, a very fast CPU and lots of battery life. They are good pieces of technology, and are not overhyped. iTunes is horrid though, I agree completely. MACs are overrated as can be, but not iPods.

You can copy crap from your iPod to any computer without bothering with software... Just make it so you can see hidden files and folders, and go right into the iPod.

Uhm. Maybe iPod is okay, but at least in Poland iPhone costs almost $700. That's more than for a good motherboard + CPU + GPU set...

Songbird can play itunes purchases, and at leasts works with the non-touch/non-phone variety ipods.

Sharepod will let you pull the songs off your ipod and put them onto your computer. It's similar to Yamipod, but the interface is nicer and it's easier to use. When I just recently wiped my laptop for a reinstall, that's what I used to reload my music onto my laptop.
